Training

What a week (really only 4 days) but I workout with a Trainer 2 days a week to do something other than run, jump, etc.  I have a Trainer to push me harder.  Anyway I asked her about Crossfit/RockBody and so here we go.

So as any good Trainer would do she checked it out and the first thing we did was a fitness test (to see where we are).  She and I work out daily so you would think this is not going to be to much of a challenge....wrong.....1. Squat Jump, 2. Push up, 3. burpie, 4. High knee, 5. Lunges (I hate Lunges), 6. Tuck Jump, 7. Dips, Crunches.  We did each exercise 50-52 seconds with a 10 second break in between.  Not bad? WRONG again.  That had to be the longest 50 seconds and the shortest 10 seconds I have ever seen.  What I couldn't wrap my mind around was the fact that I sucked at this.  I mean I work out almost every day and have been told maybe push the envelope a little to hard.  This kicked my butt and had to be the hardest thing I have done in a very long time........

Until yesterday's workout........(sigh)  1.  Shoulder Squat with a 14lb bag, 2. 1 leg push up, squat and jump to the side (really), 3.  high knee kicks, drop 10 mountain climber (keep you butt low)(yeah, ok!), 4. Jumping Jack with some other madness attached. again with the 50/10 second stuff.  We were supposed to do 3 sets.......not so much.  But it gets better (not really).

We move on to YOGA/TRX (who knew?)  but this was by far my favorite not the easiest but I really like this.  Maybe we can do more (hint, hint) we start in a plank, then crunch, then plank, then adductor, bend your knees put on your elbow, then push up back out to plank, then up to jack knife, plank and down.  This is not to be done quickly but slowly, we did build up to 2 in a row.  I have attached the video to give you an idea of what it should look like.  http://youtu.be/8EWujbnFlE0

Have you added something new to your workout?
